GCISD elementary schools will begin at

7:40 a.m. and dismiss at 2:55 p.m.

Please mark your calendars and set your alarms now. We emphasize the value of being in school every minute that school is offered in order for your child to receive the best academic opportunity possible.

school bus

  • School doors unlock at 7:25. Students may go straight to the classrooms at 7:25.
  • If you are dropping your child off through the car rider line, please enter the line from the driveway closest to Bogart, off of Pleasant Run. There are two lanes that will be directed to pull up and then turn RIGHT to form ONE lane (along the CMS fence heading to the back of our school).
  • We ask that if your child is able to get themselves in and out of your car, that you use the carline for arrival and dismissal. If they need help with car seats or booster seats, we ask that you park in the back lot and walk up. Staff is not permitted to get into cars to help buckle and unbuckle the kiddos.
  • Your students will not be permitted to walk through the parking lot alone. If you are parking, then you must turn your ignition off and escort your child all the way to the cross walk. Please DO NOT stop your car in the parking lot and ask them to jump out. It is not safe for your child nor the others that are also trying to get to school on time.
  • Please allow yourself plenty of time to patiently wait for the drop off line to continue. We expect the students to be in their classroom when the 7:40 bell rings, not running up the sidewalk or sitting in the line. We want all of our days to start off feeling prepared with a smile and a positive outlook!
  • PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make every effort to have your child to school on time.

  • If your child will be absent from school, please call the school that morning (817)305-4940 and let us know.
  • If your child has been to a medical appointment, we require a signed doctor's note upon return, however, a parent note will be sufficient if they did not see a doctor but stayed home due to illness.
  • The three reasons to always keep your child home are the following: diarrhea, fever and/or vomiting within the past 24 hours.

Please feel free to call my office if you have any questions or concerns regarding attendance, arrivals or dismissals! I look forward to have a successful year together!
