What should my child know when entering Kindergarten?

• Say his/her first & last name
• Write his/her first name with appropriate lower case letters
• Take care of basic needs on own (restroom, tissues, cleaning up after themselves, etc.
• Count to 20
• Use scissors & glue sticks correctly 
• Hold a standard pencil correctly
• Sing the alphabet
• Name rhyming sets of words 
• Identify upper & lower case letters
• Tell an adult when they need help or when something is wrong 
• Follow two step directions 
• Be familiar with common nursery rhymes & fairy tales
• Take turns & share 
• Helpful hint: use “Writing Wizard” app (with stylus) on tablet to ensure proper letter formation
• Kinder Camp will be on 8/10/22 and will provide us an opportunity to gather some information on your child's skills.
